A quote tells your client what a job will cost before the work starts. Follow the steps below to build a quote, save it, and send it to your client.

  2. Select Quotes in the top menu.
  3. Open the Choose a billing method drop-down and pick the method that fits the job (for example, Labour). The matching quote form opens as soon as you pick a billing method.

What the job will cost
  1. Add a line for each piece of work, with a clear description.
  2. Enter the hours and rate (or quantity and price, depending on the billing method). Each line total and the quote total are worked out for you.
  3. Add more lines as needed, and remove any you don't want.
About markup: Any Materials & Equipment markup % is for your eyes only. It's included in the totals, but it is never shown on the quote or email your client receives.

Save and send

Step 4
Finish the quote
  1. Review the totals and the client's email address.
  2. Save it as a draft if you're not ready to send it yet.
  3. When it's ready, send it to your client. You can find it again any time under Quote List.
Practising in the sandbox? In the sandbox each line item and the Final Amount Due must be $100 or less, or the quote won't save (drafts included).
